yeah!!!! i just came back from OBS!!! it was gosh!!! terrible yet so SUPER!!! i have no idea how to describe it. while accomadations and food were horrible, the fun never stopped!!!! on the first day, the school brought us to the jetty and i saw farid and shab!!! we went to the mph in camp 2 and were splitted into our groups. my group name was called Da Gama, after an explorer. i can't believe the fates were so against me. zheng gang was in my group and that was niceee... so was gloria. i didn't really know fiona so yeah. but nigel was in my group too!!! and i got super suaned by jian yu. but we got introed into the whole obs concept by lam and met out watch instructor, wilfred!

we did trust fall next and my heart was like..beating and beating..but i fell backwards and the feeling was awesome!!! then we did alot of games and a teacher from a pri sch also joined us to see what obs was like! but day 1 was considered short. we had burnt rice for dinner with erm.. red bean and sausage. i was v v v v v v v v homesick. kept thinking of gabby.. sigh*

on Day #2, we had to kayak our way to the nxt campsite. it was nice! we learnt how to kayak and hold the padle, and also how to do capsize and rescue! it was v v fun. but it was physically challenging and painful. why? cause i got hit on the head with the paddle 'accidentally' by dage like..what..THREE times. sheesh!. we had to battle the waves and currents and stay at the same path while aslo maintaing a constant pace. nigel and i were like.. rowing and rowing and rowing and rowing like there was no tmr. we finally reached the shore in 45 mins. it was so fun! but tiring as well. we even die the jetty jump! we jumped from the jetty plank and SPLASH! into the sea!!! the first day was real fun and we really got to know each other alot better.

we went to the inverse tower after we reached camp 1. i went up the logs with ubaidul. we only managed to make it to level 3 but we at least gave it out best. it wasnt easy at all. zg and rajan actually made it to the 5th level! there are 6 levels in all and to reach the 5th isn't easy. they were great! lunch was also a downer cause the food wasn't really that nice but we were all hungry and starved to bits so we just went into whatever we could get our hands on. it was great! i didn't really eat dinner though as the food was just plain gross and i felt like vomitting everytime i chewed smthg. so i drank instead. we went to the multipurpose hall to play somemore and went to sleep. we slept in the MPH because of the lighting rains and heavy storm. it was really cold and i was shivering like crazy even though i wore 2 layers. it was v tiring though and i was still home sick.

Day #3, we had to navigate from camp 1 to all different locations. nigel and i had to navigate and lead the group to different pit stops and everything. we didn't get lost at all but instead, we found a short cut and a new type of fruit! it wasn't poisonous but also wasn't edible. wilfred also taught us how to make our back packs lighter but it was still very heavy and tiring. once, we were at the top of the highest point in the whole island, tua kah. it was a beautiful sight. the water was so clear and peaceful, the whole group felt like jumping in! we even took a pic there with wilfred's hp! we then went to camp before it rained. it was raining on and off until the night whereby my group started a campfire and shared food with armstrong, our buddy group. there, we mingled with all the members from armstrong. jo and another 4 of us felt like beraking alot but we all went to control it and went v high. lolx. we even made marcus lose his appetite by shining the torchlight onto his food and describing it in detail. lolx. he got so fed up and desprate, he let me eat his mushroom!!! yeah! i missed mushrooms there. cause our group hadn't cooked mushrooms yet. but we had campbell soup! and it was tasty. milo too!!! it was the best dinner we ever had and also the best night. we all went star gazing and everything, talking and joking with the other group. fara was nice too. shes arab! and i found out quite alot about her. it was one of the best nights in the whole obs course ever!

day #4, we went back to camp 2 where we first started and tried rock climbing but by then, me and rayhana and shera were like not feeling v well already. probably because of the lack of sleep and everything. out of all the girls that tried to rockclimb, only 3 made it. shyra, jo and xue ying. the others couldn't scale it but the guys could. rajan was awesome at climbing. dead cool. but i got a few bruises here and there from climbing it though. we played around until late at night and cooked and pitched out tents again. we played this blindfold game whereby we were supposed to be blindfolded and make the whole group reach and touch the tree. it was really hard but also, very very fun. we all enjoyed ourselves alot there. it was also our last night in pulau ubin. it was as if it was only in day 1 whereby we first met each other. we were all reluctant to go home but also longing to get home. that was a very weird feeling. we didn't want to leave, but we want to leave. doesnt make sense eh? but the feeling is so hard to describe. we also had alot of fun in our tents. the guys were like playing a fool and everything. made everyone laugh with their funny antics and weird sounds. lolx. they rock!

day #5 was short. we had to wash everything, from groundsheets to tents, to ponchos to everything. we had to keep our whole tall in check and everything. it was very tiring, but breakfast was funny. rajan was feeding all the girls cause we were in charge of washing our groundsheets and rajan was like the baby sitter, feeding us tuna bread. lolx. we kept goofing around and splashing water at each other. lolx. we finally finished packing and played and chatted somemore as well as bought souvinours. i bought this turqouise tanktop and the obs collerpin. we also recieved our certs and group photo. it was nice!!! it was all very fun and one by one, we all left to go to the jetty, into the boat and back to singapore. while i was leaving, jo and xueying were like telling me the obs motto: ['to serve, to strive and not to yield'] then all the girls were like repeating the other phrases like 'bound for adventure, changed for life'. its real motivating and we all promised to stay in contact. lolx..

obs was one of the best camps ever except for RHYA camp too. lets see how the eco camp tmr will be like. hope it will be fun!
